WE HAVE ONE DAY TO ACT ON AB665

Monday, June 19, is now the federal Juneteenth holiday. As such, the Advocacy Day we had planned is off and the only time we have to contact the Senate Judiciary Members is in their local offices today, Friday, June 16, and at local events, such as ribbon cutting ceremonies, Town Halls, Fathers’ Day picnics, etc., this Saturday and Sunday.

WHAT TO DO:

1. Today, June 16
   1. If you haven’t already (ahem), submit your opposition letters to the Portal and email or fax them to the Senate Judiciary Committee.
      1. E-mail – sjud.fax@sen.ca.gov
      2. Fax – (916) 403-7394; or
   2. Email your letters + questions + our new “Oppose AB665 Flyer“ to each Senate Judiciary Member (11 total). Make sure you
      1. Say you are opposing AB665 (and SB407);
      2. Ask the Senator to vote no or abstain on AB665 (and SB407) until the issues you identified, or questions you asked, are fixed;
      3. Ask for a 15-20 minute ZOOM and include 3-5 questions you want to discuss.
      4. Everything you need is in our UPDATED AB665 Toolkit
   3. Call and leave a voicemail for each Senate Judiciary Member letting them know you emailed asking for a meeting and ASKING THE SENATOR TO VOTE NO OR ABSTAIN.
      1. Constituents identify yourself by ZIP CODE, and
      2. Non-constituents you do not need to identify that you are not a constituent just state your name and opposition.

   1. Visit the Senators at local events.
   2. Post your photos / video encounters and TAG @factslawtruthjustice on Instagram and @FLTJllp on Twitter.
3. Tuesday, June 20:
   1. Advocacy Day beginning at 10 a.m.
   2. Hearing starts at 1:30 p.m.
