LAUSD Vaccine Mandate Injunction

Palicke v. Placentia Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD)

Non-profits sue LAUSD over vaccine mandates for employees and students.

Outcome: Victory. This case successfully forced LAUSD to stop illegal Covid vaccine mandates. Plaintiffs are now seeking to recover attorneys’ fees and costs under California’s Code of Civil Procedure section 1021.5 (known as the Private Attorney General Statute).

On October 18, 2021, Pearson and her FLTJ colleagues Jessica Barsotti and Rita Barnett-Rose filed a lawsuit on behalf of PERK and the Children’s Health Defense Fund – California against Los Angeles Unified School District and its Superintendent, Megan Reilly, and all seven members of its Board of Education in Los Angeles Superior Court. The plaintiffs sought an injunction to stop LAUSD’s enforcement of unlawful MRNA shot mandates for children 12 and older. https://www.perk-group.com/news/school-vaccine-mandate-lawsuit-update

While litigating the lawsuit against LAUSD, Pearson worked frequently with Robert F Kennedy, a fellow attorney and founder of the Children’s Health Defense Fund. Beginning in March 2020 and throughout the spring of the Covid pandemic, Pearson had daily zoom meetings with Kennedy and Dr. Simone Gold to formulate a legal strategy to oppose unlawful government CV19 MRNA shot mandates.
